Spb Benchmark is a tool for measuring Pocket PC device performance. Spb Benchmark measures various aspects of Pocket PC device productivity and speed such as:
Unlike other benchmark applications for Pocket PC, Spb Benchmark also carries out some tests that could be more informative for an average user:
The results of the tests carried out by Spb Benchmark include the time it took to carry out a test, speed (for data write tests) and comparison to Compaq iPaq 3650.
Benchmarking your device. To test performance of your device you'll need to start Spb Benchmark application on your device. It will guide you through the whole process of testing various device components. After starting, you'll be prompted to select a group of tests to perform. You can choose between four groups of tests - main (tests of main subsystems of your Pocket PC are placed there), storage cards tests, battery tests and ActiveSync tests. After you choose the group of tests to carry out you can review the list of tests to run, and enable/disable some of them. While testing, you can view the progress information or stop the test process. When all tests are completed, an XML file with test results will be generated. You can visualize your results or compare them to other devices using Spb Benchmark Manager. |
Spb Benchmark Manager. Spb Benchmark Manager comes handy when you want to visualize test results of your device or compare them to other ones. To do so, connect your device to desktop using ActiveSync and launch Spb Benchmark Manager. It will automatically download test results from the device and submit them to our website. You should also use Spb Benchmark Manager to perform the ActiveSync test. |
Spb Benchmark Website. After the tests are completed, Spb Benchmark produces an XML file with the results of the tests performed. This XML code can be used to visualize test results. Spb Benchmark website provides several pages for visualizing the test results and comparing different Pocket PC devices in graphical form. You can use both tables and charts for comparing. There are several skins for the graphics. |
Spb Benchmark Index. In addition to executing a number of tests which examine all subsystems of a target Pocket PC, Spb Benchmark calculates an Spb Benchmark Index based on results of tests of main subsystems. Spb Software team made a thorough job of balancing that index, taking into consideration every aspect of user's work on Pocket PC and making Spb Benchmark Index a reliable gauge of overall performance of any Pocket PC. |
